"Overpriced hats !"
Overpriced hats !

The overall experience with the Boston Scally hat was just OK. It's really nothing special. I was expecting to be WOW'd by this hat; ... but unfortunately, the hat is average and fell short of expectations. :-(

On a side note: @ things that you are not told is that (1) you should expect to receive an average of 3 either e-mail or text messages per week after you buy something from the Boston Scully Company and (2) the web site does not accept the posting of unfavorable reviews. That kind of speaks for itself (doesn't it?).

"Way Way Way overpriced for the Quality"
This website is borderline scammy. Wish I had seen these before I ordered. I got three. Two are ridiculously shallow. You know how your hat should sit right where your ear meets your head? These go down to the very top top of your ear. Really stupid fit. Do they wear these themselves? In the pics in their ads the hats all go down to where they are supposed to. It's bs to show one thing and sell another.
So one wearable but not even high quality hat cost me $140. It's a damn shame that companies like this exist because of online sales. They say whatever they want and know it's too big of a pain to send the stuff back. Hopefully karma will sort it out.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/BUSINESS OWNER ON THE PLANET!!!

My wife and daughter ordered three hats for me for Christmas. They were the wrong size so I returned them. After several months and 17 emails, they still have my money, I have not received replacement hats or coupons to replace the order, and they refuse to contact me directly to resolve the issue.

Mike Arone (Owner) is clearly running his business poorly. I have been as patient and cordial as possible trying to resolve the issue. Each email only seems to drag out the process further despite simply asking for the paid amount in Boston Scally coupons. Hard to believe a business would risk their companies integrity for three hats. BEWARE. This could be your experience. VERY SHADY.

For the record, I have never once posted a negative business review online. Yeah, that bad.

"This company is absolute trash horrible…"
This company is absolute trash horrible customer service. They blame customers for their screw-ups. I entered my current address when ordering a $50 item and their system switched the address to a previous address from which I had ordered they tried to claim. That it had to be me that made this mistake when I absolutely know where I live the address that they sent it to on the order had the lot. Number which I live at now listed on it. They absolutely refuse to replace the item or refund my money. They are very argumentative and complete trash if I were you. I would save my money and order elsewhere absolutely disgusting horrible service.

"Don’t bother with Boston Scally Co"
I had such a disappointing experience with Boston Scally Company. Their quality control is terrible, panels are cut/stitched unevenly and hats look sloppy and lopsided as a result. Hat sizes are inconsistent and don’t match the sizing chart listed on their website. You’d think that after three failed attempts with the same hat, it would be enough for a full refund but they insist on sending me more low quality hats instead and any refund would be subject to a processing fee that’s roughly 15-20% the cost of the hat. I was hoping I’d get some actual customer service instead it feels like cut and paste responses that ignore my actual request and just spit out the prefabbed company lines. You can’t speak to anyone directly, in fact they don’t even have a phone number so there’s no way to get past the email roadblock that they throw at you. Their marketing is good but that’s about as far as it goes, shop elsewhere.

"Got the Contender"
Got the Contender. As stated multiple times, this is a cheap Chinese made cap. There add says it’s made of cotton/poly/wool blend. Nope, tag says 100% poly. The company is also not in Boston. This crap ships from PA. It’s a disappointment. If you want to show your Irish roots, stick with real caps made in Ireland.

"I ordered a hat based on their sizing…"
I ordered a hat based on their sizing chart . They measurements of the hat were off by quite a bit. They also accidentally sent out two hats instead of one. When I got the return started I drove to post office to print the label off only to find out they had canceled my return until i sent back the extra hat they sent me. I had a hard time understanding why they didn’t tell me they were canceling the return label. They acted like I had somehow tried to steal a hat from them . They stated only once the extra hat was returned could I start the exchange . It was just one ridiculous policy after another in trying to deal with them. Once I had to argue with them for days before they allowed me to send both hats back at the same time. Then they refunded 38 dollars after I spent 55.92 . I have no idea why . This company is garbage and honestly so were the hats they sent out . If I were you I would steer clear of this company . Terrible customer service , terrible return policy. Just all around grimy.

"Sizing Inconsistencies/Tons of Options"
I bought 3 X-Small caps. Supposed to be 54-55 cm. -one measured 52 cm. and just sat on the top of my head. Another one had loose stitching down the front seam.

They will exchange for a different size and replace a damaged cap (no additional fees). But, they don't include a return shipping label with the receipt- which is foolish since they have lots of exchanges.

The company has been around for ten years, so caps outside the sizing guidelines, or damaged, shouldn't be shipped out. Made in China, so that explains some problems.

That being said, they have more styles and patterns than any other flat cap company I've found. If you can deal with back and forth exchanges for the proper size, you'll get a good cap at a reasonable price.

"Best Caps Anywhere."
I have purchased several Boston Scally caps and I love them.
Aside from them coming faster than advertised, these caps are well made, from great material and look so good.

Recently I bought the “flap cap” for those really cold days. I was worried about how it would look with flaps in and I am thrilled to say with the flaps inside, there is no appreciable difference in the look. Flaps out, still looks good and is very warm.

Great job Boston Scally.

"Ridiculous return policy"
Ridiculous return policy, my wife purchased for me as a Christmas gift. Original order was a medium/ large and was too small, next size up is extra large, too large. no refunds, only store credits. What’s a person to do when their hats don’t fit. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to buy from. Customer service is horrible.

"Exchange policy needs work"
I ordered the Black Rose cap for my boyfriend mid November 2022 as a Christmas gift. When he opened the box, the cap was too small. I tried to do an exchange on Christmas Day & the system wouldn’t let me. I received an automated reply back saying the holiday period started 5 days after my order.

"Made in China Shipped from PA"
Ordered a hat prior to Christmas the size chart was followed however the hat arrived and was extremely too big by inches. So now I’ve lost the discount code because you can’t get it applied to a replacement and a refund you lose 20% so after multiple emails with no reply but 2 or 3 a day about how the people of Boston are scrappers and proud, I used my gift card to repurchase praying the hat that would be to small will fit. Thankfully it did and through some creative purchasing to make it worth my wild the hats arrived (no combining discounts is never mentioned) and they fit. I am done with this company and can now stop their 2 to 4 emails a day. They may sit in an office in MA but they have no tie to Boston other than that. The quality is not the best crooked stitching, uneven pieces, and the made in PRC tag under the size (people’s Republic of China), you will find this hidden after the “designed in the USA”. Don’t expect much of any help with their email only customer service. OH and the oh so proud scrapper people of Boston ship from Hanover PA. I bought the same hat at less than half price and equal quality off of Amazon.
